Single and Searching: Therapy for Singles

Tired of swiping right and it not leading anywhere?

Finding yourself repeating the same relationship patterns?

Spending hours agonizing over your profile, messages, and potential mates on OkCupid or Match?

When we are young we develop ideas of who we are and how we should be treated based on what we see from our parents and other caregivers. Consciously and unconsciously we seek out our soul mate based on these ideas. Sometimes this helps us and other times it hurts us.

Sometimes we prioritize wants (tall, dark, and handsome) over needs (emotionally available, compassionate, and communicative). And sometimes wants and needs are hard to tease out—you want to be sexually attracted to the person, after all.

But if you are single and feeling lonely and frustrated with the dating scene and unsure why you keep finding yourself getting dumped, not making it past six weeks of dating, or just repeating the same patterns, counseling can help. Therapy is figuring out why this is happening, what we can do to change it, and how to go about making different decisions.

I take a non-judgmental approach and work collaboratively with single women to figure out how your past is impacting your present and work with you to co-create a different future. I cannot promise that therapy will help you meet your dream man. But I can tell you that becoming the best, most insightful version of yourself will allow you to open up to new possibilities.
